YAYYYYY!!!! AHHH!!! I can’t contain the excitement that I have to FINALLY be sharing this beautiful couple with you beautiful people. This has been a long time in the making, my goodness it was excruciating. I have hit that point where I realize that getting to capture these beautiful images and to see love like this from the other side of a camera is such a life giving experience. I get to see two people who genuinely love one another, and it just radiates through them in ways I can’t put into words. However what I can put into words is how drained I’ve been feeling lately. Seriously! It has been a very difficult few weeks. I have felt the weight of pain on my shoulder, but this wonderful two hours that I got to spend with two of my favorite people on the planet, at one of the most beautiful places in the world was exactly what I needed. So yes, now, finally this is what it all comes down to! LUKE AND SHERIDAN ARE FINALLY ON THE BLOG!!
So as always you need a story! This year at Radford has brought in so many new blessings into my life, and one of those first ones was Mr. Luke! Luke is a freshman this year at Radford, and he is beyond amazing. He calls me his Babushka, and I love it! I’m such a mom and I’m fine with that, and Luke is one of my little babies. This guy is amazing and he has a heart of gold. I get to see and experience grace every time that I’m around him. Now his wonderful and beautiful other half is probably one of the most beautiful people that I’ve ever met, Sheridan. This girl is so amazing and I’m so excited to announce that I’m living with her next year in Riverside!! But on to the story at hand. These two have a beautiful relationship and man has it been amazing to watch. I love getting to love people and help in guiding through the trials of life. These two are two of those people that fall into that category. I have gotten the extreme blessing of getting to help these two in some crazy times in there relationship and from getting to love them I felt loved. I can’t give my thanks enough to the fact that I’ve hit the friend lottery at this stage in my life.
Now like a few of my other shoots this one was rather spontaneous. You see it has been absolutely freezing here in the beautiful valley for a few weeks now. Seriously, one day it was 48 outside but to us crazy Radfordians it felt like 84. People were in shorts and tank tops playing games in the quad again. It was awesome, but alas next weekend theres a projected one foot of snow, yeaaaa not cool! But I woke up on Saturday morning and thought to myself, “I should call Sher and Luke and tell them to get dressed because we’re taking pictures now.” But I realized that was really unreasonable, so I decided that that night when the whole gang was gonna hang out that I would just ask them if they’d want to go the next day after church. Much to my delight they said yes!! Ahh my heart was so happy I than began to plot out where we would go. The first place that popped into my mind was Harry Dehaven Park!! This place is my absolute favorite place in this valley. It is beautiful in every meaning of the word, and these two made it even better.
One thing that this wonderful shoot taught me is that taking photos of people that love their Father make their photos even more beautiful. Their souls come out, and the light of grace shines through. I love this amazing couple more than words, and really I need to stop writing because I could go on for hours, and lets be real only I would enjoy talking about these two that much. So I’ll share some our crazy stories as you look at these beautiful images!
The weather was a little weird when we first got out of church, but seriously we were blessed the skies gave them some “hot pics” with the way their colors popped so beautifully! Sher, that red dress was an amazing choice!
These two are basically pros when it came to posing for their upcoming issue of GQ, haha!
Luke’s natural ability to make Sheridan laugh and just enjoy life is beautiful. One of the many things I love about this incredible man!
Fun fact: The first thing I asked these two when were on our way over was, “What all are you willing to do to get great images?” Sheridan and Luke both quickly responded with anything. My next question was, “So are y’all ok with kissing?” Luke immediately pipes up and says, “I’m ok with kissing!” This boy cracks me up. But seriously its because I had never seen these two kiss so I had to make sure it was cool. Yea I’m that girl! These two are seriously the coolest ever. Just had to throw that in there if you couldn’t tell from the image above! The image above is from when I asked Luke and Sheridan to act like they did the first time they met each other. In that moment Luke just looked Sheridan with a look unlike anything I had ever seen him give Sheridan. He just kept saying that, “It was an amazing day, unlike anything from before.” For the last few images we left the park and headed to a familiar location that you saw few months back on Maddie and Nathan’s blog post! Yep you guessed it, the Radford sign!!! And yes I did stick them in the middle of the road like I did Maddie and Nathan! You could say these two couples love me, a lot! Why else would they do these crazy things to allow me to catch these beautiful and fun images! Yessss!! Nailed it!
Lastly, I had to add our fun and spunky pictures that perfectly capture these two’s personalities! Luke and Sheridan, thank you thank you thank you!!! You two are wonderful and I’m incredibly blessed to call y’all my friends. You are officially apart of the Brooke Carroll Photography club and I loveeeee it. So excited that we get to walk through life together and that I get to say I love y’all. Y’all are simply beautiful but your souls are radiant beyond words. Thank you for suffering through my minor heart attacks, and allowing me to experience life in the most incredible way.
